A1 Beginner
You know a few words, or none. Short chapters of about 85 words, all in the present tense, with the most common 1,000 words.
- 60–90 words per chapter
- 3,000–4,000 words per book

You can handle everyday phrases. Chapters of about 100 words, the first past tenses and the top 2,000 words.
